Executive Chef Scott Crawford Joins Woodlands Resort &
Inn Culinary Team
For Immediate Release, April 2004
In a corner of America famous for its food, Woodlands Resort & Inn today
introduced Scott Crawford as executive chef of its award winning resort. Known
for his simple, yet sophisticated regionally based style, Crawford comes to
Woodland's from Amelia Island Resort's famed Grill Room, a AAA Five Diamond
restaurant.
"Crawford brings fresh energy to The Dining Room's culinary team," says General
Manager, Marty Wall. "He shares an appreciation for exquisite ingredients and
will maintain Woodlands reputation for its artistically prepared, simple
presentations, consistent with the product our guests are
accustomed to."
American born, Chef Crawford is a graduate of the American Culinary Academy in
Tampa, Florida. His career highlights include stints on both coasts. His mastery
of fine cuisine was formed when working in Miami with Chef Norman
Van Aken, the chef who popularized fusion and New World Cuisine. On the west
coast Crawford worked with Reed Heron at the upscale French bistro, Black Cat in
San Francisco. Chef Heron is recognized as a pioneer in developing food
concepts.
Passionate about food, Crawford's approach promises a memorable experience. "I
want our guests to feel comfortable and familiar with the foods I am
preparing, but to experience their flavors in a way like they never have
before," offers Chef Crawford. Maintaining The Dining Room's coveted Mobil
Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond ratings, an honor shared with the resort itself,
are paramount to Crawford. "I plan to build upon the legacy," he says.
The Dining Room has been voted the #3 Restaurant & the "Best for Food" in North
America by Conde Nast Traveler's Readers Choice Awards and has been
highlighted on its Gold List with "The only perfect food score in North America"
and "Among the top ten restaurants for service in the world." Relais & Chateaux
has named The Dining Room at Woodlands "Relais Gourmand"; it's most prestigious
designation.
